New Addition to the Collection: A Pristine DAF 600

We’ve added a unique DAF 600 to the DAF Museum — a 1960 first-generation DAF passenger car with only 21,457 kilometers on the odometer!

This grey DAF 600 with matching grey skai upholstery is now proudly on display in our museum. It features a white bakelite steering wheel, and a suction cup keeps the flower vase in place against the windshield. On the rear, the original dealer badge is still intact.

In 1960, the car was delivered by Nieuwe Automobiel Mij, or NAM for short — the DAF dealer in Haarlem. It looks as if it just rolled out of the factory.

The first owner, a teacher, was always present during maintenance. After five years, the odometer read 21,457 kilometers. When the owner passed away in 1966, the car remained at the garage…

In 2024, it was passed on to an enthusiast, and now it shines in our very own DAF Museum: 65 years old, with its underside still in primer — which was the only protection back then — yet still in mint condition.

It’s always a joy to add such a unique specimen to our collection. Very few first-generation DAF passenger cars remain in such original and excellent condition.

Thanks to the Tiny and Anny van Doorne Foundation for acquiring the DAF 600.
