Trucknasium is looking for volunteers
Interested in Volunteering at the DAF Museum?
The DAF Museum has 200 active volunteers working in various roles, including:
- at the reception,
- in the restaurant,
- in the shop,
- as attendants or tour guides,
- in the archive,
- in administration,
- in the workshop,
- as facility staff,
- as IT specialists,
- as supervisors and instructors in the Trucknasium,
- as policy support staff,
- and as board members.
Volunteers receive a compensation for their efforts. In addition, there are several secondary benefits. We also strive to create a pleasant and welcoming working environment. Volunteering comes with responsibilities, but above all, it should be enjoyable.

We are currently looking for:

IT Specialist
Responsibilities:
- Provide IT support to DAF Museum staff
- Assist with various hands-on IT-related tasks
- Set up and configure PCs and laptops
- Familiarity with the DAF Trucks IT environment is a plus, but not required
Time Commitment:
1 to 2 days per week, during the museum’s opening hours.
The IT Specialist will be part of the IT department, which currently consists of five team members, each with their own area of IT expertise.
This is a volunteer position. A statutory volunteer allowance applies. -
Hospitality Assistant – Daffetaria/Tavern
Responsibilities:
- Welcome DAF Museum visitors in a friendly and hospitable manner.
- Inform guests about the products and services offered in the Daffetaria/Tavern, take orders, prepare and serve drinks, light meals, and snacks.
- Handle payments using the cash register.
- Ensure that the kitchen and tables are kept clean and tidy at all times.
- Set tables neatly when lunches are scheduled.
- Assist during events held at the Village Square, in the Boardroom, or in the Tavern.
- Balance the cash register at the end of the day.
Time Commitment:
1 to 2 days per week during museum opening hours, with optional shifts in the evening or on weekends. Each day, two to three volunteers are scheduled in the Daffetaria or Tavern.
This is a volunteer position. A statutory volunteer allowance applies. -
Museum Attendant / Guide
Responsibilities:
- Patrol the museum to ensure a pleasant and respectful environment.
- Ensure that visitors treat the exhibits with care and respect.
- Answer visitor questions and help ensure their museum experience meets expectations.
- Be willing to expand your knowledge of the collection and stay informed -this is essential for both attendants and guides.
- Be flexible and ready to support colleagues during busy times - for example, by assisting in the cafeteria.
- In addition to fluency in Dutch, knowledge of a second language (English, German, or French) is an advantage, but not required.
Time Commitment:
As an attendant: approximately 1 day per week during museum opening hours.
As a tour guide: depending on the demand for guided tours.
The museum is operated daily by a team of 8 volunteers.This is a volunteer position. A statutory volunteer allowance applies.

Host Trucknasium
Job description: Host
Welcome and supervise the students and their supervisors during their visit to the museum and introduce the teaching programme to the students.
We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague, who is able to fulfil the role of host in a pleasant and relaxed manner for both the students and their supervisors.
Job profile
An important task is to ensure that visiting students and their supervisors feel at home from the moment they arrive in the DAF Museum/Trucknasium. Moreover, the host will make all general arrangements during a class visit to our Trucknasium at the DAF Museum. Some experience with similar activities is recommended, but also persons with an affinity to such activities are warmly welcome.
The task commitment is 1 to 2 mornings, afternoons or evenings a week, depending on the time of the school year.

Supervisor Trucknasium
Job description: Supervisor Trucknasium
In an enthusiastic manner, allow students to become acquainted with technology in general and show them the possibilities within the industrial automotive truck sector. Let groups of young people discover what is possible and what effect their inventions have by means of practical assignments and digital simulations. This can be in various fields, such as design, but also for instance in the fields of aerodynamics, energy savings and safety.
Job profile
We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers who know how to interest students in technology and the automotive sector. Some experience in giving presentations to and supervising groups is desirable. A knowledge of the industrial automotive sector or trucks is also extremely desirable.
Volunteer supervisors must have affinity with the mental and social world of young visitors to the DAF Museum (the first two classes of secondary education).
It is also important that as an enthusiastic volunteer, you help each other in the team of the volunteer supervisor based on each person's own experience. This demands on average one morning, afternoon or evening per week, which will be decided in proper consultation.
