DAF Museum Welcomes 60,000th Visitor
With pride, the DAF Museum welcomed its 60,000th visitor of the year last weekend. Mr. Schuijt from Enkhuizen was officially received by the museum’s board together with his family and, of course, put in the spotlight.
By welcoming the 60,000th visitor, the record of 2023 was matched. “Last year we ended up slightly lower with just over 55,000 visitors, so it’s great that we’ve achieved growth again in 2025,” said Marc Hendrikse, chairman of the independent Friends of the DAF Museum Foundation. “The fact that we continuously add new vehicles to the collection and now, for example, have an interesting themed exhibition on design and artificial intelligence is clearly paying off.”
Mr. Schuijt, who recently turned 80, was spending a weekend in Mierlo with his son, daughter-in-law, and three grandsons. When deciding what to do on Saturday, they chose the DAF Museum. They were delighted with the attention and the fact that they were given special treatment. Mr. Schuijt first headed to the classic DAF passenger cars, while his grandsons immediately went to the driving simulators to experience what it’s like to drive a truck.
Currently, the DAF Museum is hosting the exhibition “Design with AI – Past & Future.” It showcases the role artificial intelligence plays in shaping future generations of cars and trucks and how the latest technologies offer wonderful opportunities to bring designs from the past to life - or even give them a contemporary twist.
